Custom bike tours in Norway

We can help you plan a custom trip in the Norwegian mountains with itineraries from 3 riding days and up, and groups of 4 to 20 participants in any skill- and fitness level (well, almost).

We will guide you to the most spectacular and challenging trails that Northern Europe has to offer, customized for your wants and needs. We’ll find the best accommodation and food in accordance with your wants and needs. Every day we climb a new mountain just to follow the world class trails back down to the fjord or valley.

We are experts in finding the best trails. Not just trails in the most beautiful settings, but trails that will fulfill all your epic-rad-gnar-roost needs that most of the time happen to be situated within unesco-grade backdrops. Does your party like to shuttle all day long? We’ll make it happen. Care for some epic backcountry virgin trails? We’ll take you hiking to reach them. Wanna go for miles and miles across vast high mountain plateaus above tree level? No worries, we got you.

We can make this the package tour of a lifetime for enduro/trail riders wanting the maximum of one week of riding. However, the region offers plenty of off-the-bike activities as well; glacier walks, kayak tours and lots of ancient Norwegian culture is just around the corner for those wanting a break from riding.

The areas we frequent are huge and we can guide you to all styles of mountainbike riding. Virgin, steep backcountry trails, trail center tours, bike parks or multi day hut-to-hut rides. Just tell us what you long for and we’ll return with a kick-ass itinerary. We are glad to add skills courses as part of the tour if you wish to improve your riding technique.

Our most frequented areas are Sogndal, Luster, Stryn and Nordfjord in the fjordlands for epic backcountry riding and Ål, Gol, Nesbyen, Høgevarde and Geilo in Hallingdal for shuttle based trail riding. We also like Hardangervidda for long multi day adventure rides and the bike parks in Hafjell and Drammen for the big hit laps. We can also help out with itineraries for Northern Norway like Lofoten, Narvik and Tromsö.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get there?

We usually depart from Sogndal in the heart of Norway (if it matches with your itinerary). You can fly here with Widerøe with daily departures from Oslo. Please know that the air field is small and weather sensitive, in case of harsh weather it can be difficult or impossible to land in Sogndal. Another option is to go by boat from Bergen, an unforgettable trip through the longest and deepest fjord in Norway! Daily trips with Norled from Bergen. Let us know how you plan to travel and when you arrive, we will pick you up at the airport or at the docks. It is of course also possible to go to Sogndal by car, its a 5 hour drive from Oslo and 4 hour drive from Bergen.

When should I be there?

Please plan for an extra day of travel if you’re traveling from afar, we can of course recommend some places to stay if you plan on coming to Norway earlier than our itinerary starts. We will sort out your pickup when you book the trip with us.

What do I wear?

Weather change fast in the mountains and it’s important to be prepared. Dress with layers and avoid cotton closest to your body. A warm sweater or rain jacket is practical to keep warm when we stop for breaks. Helmet is mandatory on all tours, thin gloves and knee pads are recommended.

What do I bring?

You either rent from us or bring your own kit. If so, you need a well serviced, functioning mountain bike for heavy trail use, preferably full suspension and rather durable than light. No-one likes being stranded on the mountain because of material failure. We recommend that you bring spares specific to your bike, like hanger, spokes etc. Durable tires are recommended, as is a back pack large enough to fit some spares, food pack, water and extra clothes. We can arrange good rental equipment for those new to the sport.

What is expected of me?

As this is a group offering, this depends on the members. We strive for an even quality of riders but really, this is up to you all. We welcome groups with no prior experience of mountain biking but you will need basic fitness to have fun and above all, you need to want to explore and push your limits, but you also know when it’s time to swallow your pride and get off the bike rather than risking your health.

How about the weather?

We adapt the tour to the weather situation but we generally don’t cancel any tours.

Can I bring my kids?

We welcome youngsters from the age of 16 accompanied by a parent.

How about insurance?

You ride at your own risk, make sure you have insurance coverage accordingly.
