Bosnia and Montenegro! Experience the deepest canyon in Europe, UNESCO designated Durmitor National Park, and historic Sarajevo. East meets west to combine for a rich cultural, historical and culinary experience. Our journey begins in Sarajevo; with its war scarred fasades, rolling mountains and magical mix of old and modern, the once besieged Bosnian capital is not be missed.
But history and culture isn’t the only game in town! Onward to the banks of the Tara river. Here we meet up with our local guides and begin the odyssey through the Tara River Canyon. Surrounded by high cliffs and lush forest, the crystal clear waters transport us through 100km of pure wilderness adventure. All the while replenishing our energy with traditional local meals, cabins by the river and evening campfires.

Arrival in Sarajevo. Check into our hotel. Then explore the city on your own or optional walking tour with local guide (200sek extra). Your tour leader will be on hand to help with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions.
We enjoy a relaxing morning with a coffee and a view over Sarajevo. After lunch our private bus will transfer us to our camp on the bank of the Tara River.
After breakfast we jump in our jeeps and cross the border into Montenegro. Our trek takes us over the rugged beauty of Durmitor National Park and down to our starting point deep in the canyon. Here our local rafting guides will give us the gear and instruction we need for our journey on the river. After 5 hours of rafting we arrive at our new camp and spend the evening enjoying a delicious dinner, camp fire and relaxing our tired muscles.
Our adventure continues through the canyon with more rapids, side trip waterfalls and optional cliff jumps on the menu! In the late afternoon we glide into our camp at the confluence of the Tara, Drina and Piva rivers. Sauna time!
After a relaxing breakfast we say our goodbyes to our new found friends and return to Sarajevo for our flight home.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Weather conditions on this trip will fluctuate. Be prepared for warmer temperatures in the city to cooler temperatures in the evenings by the river. Warm sweater and rain jacket just in case. Swimsuits, sunglasses (strap is good to have when on the river Se här) and sunscreen for sure! Wetsuits are provided for the rafting. A pair of shoes that won’t slide off and can get wet, like jogging shoes.
WHAT NOT TO FORGET?
Passport and wallet! The only two things that can’t be replaced on the spot.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED ON THIS TRIP?
Minimum age for this trip is 16 when accompanied by an adult.
WHERE DO WE FLY FROM?
The price includes a return flight from Stockholm Arlanda. Please contact us if you wish to fly from a different airport. Prices and times may differ.
Guests are responsible for their own travel insurance. Please bring your insurance information and be sure to pass it along to your Tour Leader.
